1. Why do I like photography?
Capturing a valuable moment for a family is priceless. Documenting and preserving any milestone, no matter how small, brings joy to others. Giving a family a moment captured in time, and preserving it for them to cherish over a lifetime fills my heart with happiness. Portraits have the ability to take the viewer back in time, stirring up emotion and memories from the past. That is what I love about photography.
2. My favorite type of photography is sports.
Growing up as an athlete, I know how much these teams, coaches and experiences on the court or field mean to the athlete. Twenty years from now, the athletes that I capture in action will proudly share these images with their own children and that means the world to them, and to me. Not to mention the pride the parents feel when they share the images with family and friends or display them at High School graduation parties.
3. Funny story about my photography.
Nothing makes me happier than capturing these special times for families. I got into photography because photos share stories that we may forget over time. Snap shots are a huge part of that. As a photographer, I work a lot. Though shooting is one of my favorite things to do, I have very few snap shots of my own family. More so, because I am the one ALWAYS behind the camera, there are very few pictures of me floating around in this world. People expect to come to our home and find pictures all over our walls of my children and family. Truth is, our most updated portraits on the walls are from two and a half years ago!
4. A tip about photography.
Flash is ugly. Try to not use it whenever possible. Another.get closer! Move your feet closer to what you are trying to capture, fill the frame with your subject instead of leaving so much
empty space around them.
5. Why do you like SmugMug/jR Customization ?
jR Customization took my bland Smugmug site and turned it into a professional and aesthetically pleasing website! My clients are now able to enjoy their experience when they visit and have a much better understanding of what I offer and what I represent. jR Customization has been very patient with my busy schedule, has taken time to truly understand me and the vision I had
for the site, then truly brought it to life! I could not be happier.
6. Main goals for 2013 ?
My main goal for 2013 is to steam line my workflow in an effort to
make this experience as easy and manageable for my clients as possible. The
start of that, is my new website!
